If the heart is wrong no evidence or argument will persuade. Examine your heart!
Would you have an evolutionist teach the book of Genesis from a Darwinian perspective to your children in Sunday school? Would your Pastor have a Muslim Cleric hold a weeklong youth meeting in your church? Or how about a fine Christian church member teaches the Koran in Sunday school for six weeks. What about sending your child to summer camp conducted by atheists, homosexuals, or Christ deniers. Certainly a Christian parent or pastor would not do such a thing. Or would they?
Is it reasonable to ask a question of the heart? Please grant this inquiry. Are you willing and committed to obey The Word of God? If the answer is NO please stop reading now.
However, if the answer is Yes, then the following will be of great benefit.
Obviously many have excuses, arguments and rescue devices, ie. “Christian Schools are too expensive and I do not see that much difference in the product, besides that’s no more than a glorified Sunday school.  We have Christian teachers in our public school.  As a public school teacher I am a missionary. I don’t shelter my children; and after all, they are missionaries in the public school. The Bible doesn’t say anything about my responsibility to send my child to a Christian School.” But, again are you willing and committed to obey God’s Word?

Consider first of all The Why of Education
Why does your child go to school in the first place? The government requires you to educate your child. The government provides tax funded (lottery funded?) schools, teachers, curricula and textbooks to educate your child. So for 12 plus years and thousands of hours your child can be educated, taught and trained by the state run government schools. That’s easy, neat, clean, inexpensive and good academics – yes? Why does the State want to do this for you? Is it because the State loves your child and wants to help your family do God’s will? Duh!
But then what does the Bible say? What does the Bible say about education? What does the Bible say about your child and your responsibility? Please open your Bible and read the following for yourself:
Psalm 1:1. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
Jesus said: “He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.”Matt.12:30.
As fathers we are to bring our children “up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Eph.6:4.
“Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord” Eph.5:10.
“For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.” Eph.5:9.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Eph.5:11.

Jesus said: “He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.”Matt.12:30.  I personally spent 13 years in the public school system. To this day it is a battle to overcome the indoctrination, influence and worldview deeply embedded after countless hours of saturation with Christless thinking. As kind as possible I am saying, anyone who does not know that government education is not for Jesus is not committed to the Scriptures.
As fathers we are to bring our children “up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” Eph.6:4. This is a firm and loving training of the child by putting the Lord’s Word in the child’s mind and heart. “Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord” Eph.5:10. Dear parent and notably fathers, you are responsible to your child and accountable to God that science, mathematics, history, language, literature and all teaching including the teacher be “acceptable unto the Lord.” The father is so ordered by God not the government. Can this be achieved in a government run school, secular textbooks and a system aggressively anti-God and anti-Bible? “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth” Eph.5:9. Is evolution truth? Is sexual perversion acceptable truth? Is lewd, crude and rude language the fruit of the Spirit in all truth? Is revisionist history truth? Are Godless textbooks truth? “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” Eph.5:11. The Christian should not partake, not associate with but openly reprove and rebuke the unfruitful works of darkness. Farming out your responsibility to the government education system is a far cry from reproving and rebuking. Would you have an evolutionist teach the book of Genesis to your children in Sunday school? Would your Pastor have a Muslim Cleric hold a week long youth meeting? Or how about a fine, Christian church member teaches the Koran in Sunday school. Then why enroll your child in a Godless system, with Christless textbooks, taught in most cases by the unsaved? Read Psalm 1:1. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Tell me how in the name of discernment and love can a Christian parent educate their precious child in government schools and obey Psalm 1:1? It is an impossibility!

We talked about The Why of education. Now consider The What of Education:
  The What of Education
What is Education according to the Bible not according to the state?  Col.2:3 says “In Whom (Christ) are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Wisdom and knowledge is in Christ. Yet man in his attempt at knowledge rejects, ignores and spurns Christ to man’s own futility. The world is “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” 2Tim. 3:7.  Why? --Because Christ is the TRUTH. Reject Christ and you reject the opportunity to understand this universe, the complexities of life and the wonder of it all. As a matter of fact one is not even able – did you see that- not even able to come to the knowledge of the truth without first coming to Christ “In Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” So many educators today stand and say thus- and-so happened 500 million years ago. They state such as absolute fact and expect students to accept it, learn it and regurgitate such at exam time. However, these same educators say there is no absolute truth and Christians are dangerous to children because Christians claim to know absolute truth. Tragically these educators who do not believe in absolute truth teach their theories of evolution, millions of years, and no God ideas as absolute truth. How can that be and worse yet - how can Christian parents subject their vulnerable babies to thousands of hours of such “truth denying pseudo-education”? Churches today are full of parents offering their children on the God-Denying altar of public, government run, state schools, and pastors wonder what is happening with the conduct, lifestyles and behavior of church people. Where are spiritual growth, maturity and discernment? Why are young people dropping out of church or going off to some neo-group?
Spurgeon said, “The knowledge of Christ is the most excellent of sciences.” There can be no Christ honoring education in a system that rejects Jesus Christ. Knowledge of the 3R’s is perverted apart from Christ.
It is the father’s duty to protect his child from the liar, evolution, atheism, humanism, relativism, and any such teaching against Christ. Countless illustrations from public school classrooms and textbooks beyond your endurance to read could be cited here that indeed would shock many unknowing parents. If this sort of evidence is your requirement may I refer you to None Dare Call It Education by John A. Stormer from Liberty Bell Press. This volume will give you additional references for further study.
“Education is thus a most powerful ally of humanism. What can a theistic Sunday School’s meeting for an hour once a week and teaching only a fraction of the children, do to stem the tide of the five-day program of humanistic teaching?” Humanism: A New Religion, 1930
“Give me your four year olds, and in a generation I will build a socialist state.” (Vladimir Lenin)
“I am much afraid that schools will prove to be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt.” (Martin Luther)
Please examine the evidence but also look deeply into the WHY of your heart. Why do you educate your child the WAY you do?
Mr. John Rogers, minister of gospel in London, was the first martyr in Queen Mary’s reign, and was burnt at Smithfield, February 14, 1554.—His wife with nine small children, and one at her breast following him to the stake; with which sorrowful sight he was not in the least daunted, but with wonderful patience died courageously for the gospel of JESUS CHRIST.
Some few days before his death, he wrote the following “Advice to his Children.” In all of this edition, please read and ponder well the following:
Give ear my children to my words
Whom God hath dearly bought,
Lay up his laws within your heart,
and print them in your thoughts.
I leave you here a little book
    for you to look upon,
That you may see your father’s face
when he is dead and gone:
Who for the hope of heavenly things,
    While he did here remain,
Gave over all his golden years
to prison and to pain.
Where I, among my iron bands,
    [inclosed] in the dark.
Not many days before my death,
    I did compose this work:
And for example to your youth,
to whom I wish all good,
I send you here God’s perfect truth,
and seal it with my blood....
Keep always God before your eyes,
    With all your whole intent,
Commit no sin in any wise,
    keep his commandment.
Abhor that arrant whore of ROME,
    and all her blasphemies,
And drink not of her cursed cup,
    obey not her decrees.
Give honor to your mother dear,
    remember well her pain,
And recompence her in her age,
    with the like love again.
Be always ready for her help,
    and let her not decay,
Remember well your father all,
who would have been your stay.
Give of your portion to the poor,
    as riches do arise,
And from the needy naked soul,
    turn not away your eyes:....
If GOD hath given you increase,
    and blessed well your store,
Remember you are put in trust,
    and should relieve the poor.
Beware of foul and filthy lust,
let such things have no place,
Keep clean your vessels in the LORD,
    that he may you embrace.
Ye are the temples of the LORD,
    for you are dearly bought,
And they that do defile the same,
    shall surely come to nought.
Be never proud by any means,
build not your house too high,
But always have before your eyes,
that you are born to die.
Defraud not him that hired is,
    your labour to sustain,
But pay him still without delay,
    his wages for his pain.
And as you would that other men
    against you should proceed,
Do you the same to them again,
when they do stand in need....
Ask counsel always of the wise,
    give ear unto the end,
and ne’er refuse the sweet rebuke
of him that is thy friend.
Be always thankful to the LORD,
    with prayer and with praise,
Begging of him to bless your work,
    and to direct your ways.
Seek first, I say, the living GOD,
    and always him adore,
And then be sure that he will bless,
    your basket and your store.
And I beseech Almighty GOD,
    replenish you with grace,
That I may meet you in the heavens,
and see you face to face.
And though the fire my body burns,
    contrary to my kind,
That I cannot enjoy your love
    according to my mind:
Yet I do hope that when the heavens
    shall vanish like a scroll,
I shall see you in perfect shape,
    in body and in soul....
Though here my body be adjudg’d
    in flaming fire to fry,
My soul I trust, will straight ascend
to live with GOD on high....
I know I am a sinner born,
    from the original,
And that I do deserve to die
    by my fore-father’s fall:
But by our SAVIOUR’s precious blood,
which on the cross was spilt,
Who freely offer’d up his life,
to save our souls from guilt:
I hope redemption I shall have,
and all who in him trust,
When I shall see him face to face,
    and live among the just.
Why then should I fear death’s grim look
since CHRIST for me did die,
For King and Caesar, rich and poor,
the force of death must try....
Farewell my children to the world,
    where you must yet remain;
The LORD of hosts be your defence,
    ‘till we do meet again.
Farewell my true and loving wife,
    my children and my friends,
I hope in heaven to see you all,
when all things have their end.
If you go on to serve the LORD,
    as you have now begun,
You shall walk safely all your days,
    until your life be done.
GOD grant you so to end your days,
as he shall think it best,
That I may meet you in the heavens,
where I do hope to rest.

Shock and Awe
Call this “in your face” or “shock and awe,” but please stay with me just a moment longer. In your mind, picture a glass of refreshing water. Now into that glass of clean, clear water place one drop of a deadly poison. Would you drink that glass of water? It contains only a minuscule amount of poison. Now suppose a news flash—your water supply has been contaminated with fecal matter. Reportedly it’s only “so many parts per million.” Yet, do you want to bathe, cook, or drink from that water source?
Now, that fine Christian, maybe even a member of your church is a public school teacher. How does he/she teach a science text based on evolution, nowhere mentioning God, creation, even denying the Biblical account of creation? How does that Christian teacher use a health text or a math book that presents ungodly ideas, sinful examples and illustrations as teaching tools? How do you teach a history book void of God and His record with a text giving more print to Marilyn Monroe or some “pop celebrity” than George Washington? As a teacher, how do you function in a system opposed to Christ but sympathetic to New Age and Islam? How many drops of poison or fecal particulates, but still you will not drink?
By the way, I make no excuse for “Christian” schools operating under a public school philosophy and even secular textbooks. The lack of standards and classroom discipline is appalling. Parents and students often are disobedient to Biblical authority. Administration often is motivated by money and enrollment numbers rather than the will and glory of God. Dear public school parent and teacher, I make no excuse for the “Christian” school or home school in violation of God-centered authoritarian Biblically founded education with Scriptural discipline and Christ-like character training. Administration and parents constantly excusing ungodly slipshoddiness is an affront and reproach to true Bible training and education. God help us to know the difference and have the backbone to do right!
America was founded on the Bible, the fundamentals of the faith and theology along with an educational philosophy grounded in the Truth of Christ. Public Education and once great institutions that matriculated Pastors, missionaries and God believing minds run amuck with arrogant reprobate flesh.  Dr. Andrew Snelling (PhD, geology) in answersupdate writes, “Over the past 25 years I have met so many professing Christians, including scientists and pastors, who are adamant that Genesis can’t really mean God created in six literal days only thousands of years ago; they also deny that God later judged the world with the global catastrophic Flood. They claim that geologic evidences presented by evolutionary scientists and scholars (evidences that have been interpreted without the Bible as the ultimate authority) don’t agree with the Bible! Well, of course they don’t! Therefore, they say, God’s Word can’t be taken literally, and has to be re-interpreted! I am utterly amazed by this totally inconsistent reasoning. Those who are guilty of it are in reality accusing the infinite, all-powerful, triune Creator God of not being able to communicate accurately and clearly what He meant to tell us in His Word. Instead, the reasoning of sinful, finite, fallible men who are in rebellion against God is regarded as more reliable….  This is why I am not ashamed to be a creation scientist. Science cannot save me from God’s judgment which I deserve as a rebellious sinner…”
More Inconsistency
A prime time example of worldly thinking and the lack of absolutes is the fornicating golf star, Tiger Woods. One reporter commenting on the immorality of Tiger Woods states, “We (referring to the media covering the story) have no standing on infidelity.” In other words, that group of reporters had no absolute, authoritative standard on the “sins of Tiger Woods.”  That is the educational philosophy of the world. So why are they reporting on the “fall,”  “infidelity,”  “wrong doing,” or  “disappointment” of this golf athlete? If there is “no standing,” why was his action wrong? What is the big story? The media is condemning and in wonder as to the golfing future of Tiger Woods. Why? After all Tiger admits he got away from his Buddhism. Ellen Degeneress is “Cover Girls” spokesperson. That same media keeps promoting Rosie O’Donnell and Oprah Winfrey. Barbara Walters, ABC, constantly interviews a parade of perverts and whoremongers. The media is in love with Hollywood, fornicators, and homosexuals. Go ahead—get 30 public school students together at your church and ask them their views on sex before marriage, homosexuality, abortion, evolution, lying, cheating, and be specific. If they will be honest, you will be shocked, that is if you know and believe the Bible. Maybe Tiger Woods needs counsel from Bill Clinton or David Letterman. If he masters the Masters again golf rules more absolute than morality.
We have considered:
      The Why of Education
      The What of Education
Finally, note
The Way of Education.
For the Christian parents pursuing the Biblical teaching and training of a child the WAY of education is clear:

Dear Parent:
Is your child precious to you? I believe the answer is Yes!
Is your child’s teaching and training important to you? I believe the answer is Yes!
Is the will of God in your child’s life a priority to you? If you have read this far, I believe the answer is Yes!
If you answered YES to the above questions then please for your child’s sake, respond to the following evaluation of your child’s education:
The chart below is true of my child’s education whether public, christian, homeschool, etc.

This chart is by no means an exhaustive questionnaire. Whether public, private or homeschool be it clearly understood the Bible places responsibility and accountability squarely upon the parents shoulders. Sadly, all too often that role is AWOL and our children, churches and a lost world suffers the consequences.
“Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 This word “provoke” indicates the God-given, powerful position the parent holds in the life of the child. The KJB pinpoints the parents responsibility to the child and accountability to God for instruction. This instruction is through actions and teaching. Dad and Mom (Prov. 1:8) will realize great reward both personal and in the life of their child when the Biblical model is followed.

Question and Answer Time
Dear Parent: Consider these answers to critical questions regarding your child’s education.
Q: Are homeschoolers being isolationist?
A: Yes-but that doesn’t mean that what they’re doing is wrong.
How ever you educate your children, you’re being isolationist. For instance, those children who attend public schools are being isolated from a Christian philosophy in virtually everything they’re taught. Children who are homeschooled or sent to a good Christian school are isolated from being indoctrinated in a humanist philosophy.
The point is, it’s not a matter of whether one is an isolationist or not, but what you’re going to isolate children from. We should want to do our best to train them up foundationally, beginning with the book of Genesis, so that they’ll have a foundation for their doctrine and be able to defend their faith. We also train them to understand the humanist philosophy and its evil foundation of evolution, so they’ll be able to fight it.
All Christian parents should be isolating their children from being influenced by evolutionary humanism – whether they homeschool or not. Our young people should have a Christian world view based on the authority of God’s Word. [Amen!]
Q: If the Bible was allowed in public schools, wouldn’t this be promoting a religion? Isn’t public education supposed to be neutral?
A: From a biblical perspective there’s no such thing as neutrality. Scripture says that you either walk in light or darkness – you’re either for Christ or against Him – there’s no in-between. When the humanist threw the Bible out of the public school, they simply replaced it with the religion of humanism. Just because public education doesn’t mention God doesn’t mean it’s neutral. In fact, the philosophy that’s being taught to students now is that they can think, believe and act apart from God. That’s the religion of humanism.
Children are being told they can determine truth apart from God – that fallible man is the authority. Thus even Christian children who are in this system come out thinking like humanists. When they get into positions of authority, such as in government, they don’t make correct decisions based on God’s Word. They tend to think that the Bible is simply an interesting “guide book” to life that you somehow add to your thinking. We need to build all our thinking on God’s Word – starting right from Genesis.  Answers in Genesis.org 1/3
