Leviticus 18:22 records God’s clear condemnation – “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”  The Apostle in Romans 1:24 calls this abomination “…the lusts of their own hearts” as they “dishonour their own bodies…”.  For Bible believing Christians, there is no question as to the sinfulness of this “abomination.”  The “vile affection” of “sodomites” presents three opportunities of challenge for the Bible believer:

1.  Contend for the Faith – We must know what the Bible teaches about this “abomination” called “sodomy,”  then be willing to stand faithfully on the Truth of God’s Word. Contending is not contentious. We must always speak the TRUTH in love, praying those bound in sin will be made free in Christ (John 8:32).  All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but there is forgiveness and salvation through God’s love in the person of His Son (John 3:16).

2.  Commit to the Faith – If you stand firm on the Truth about sodomy you will be the object of hostile attack. Go ahead and be prepared. Some will call you a hatemonger. You have no love and compassion. They will hate you while saying you are the one that hates them. Sadly, the sodomites again sin by committing a vile hostile hate toward those who in reality want to love them with the TRUTH. The sodomites will also attempt to heap all the guilt on you. After all, the Bible says in I Corinthians 6:9-11 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”  Oh, did you read I Corinthians 5:9-13, “ I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not all together with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one, no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? Do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore PUT AWAY FROM AMONG YOURSELVES THAT WICKED PERSON.
Yes, the sodomite is guilty of violating God’s Word and order; but they try to make anyone that stands on the Bible “feel” guilty for doing and saying what is scriptually right. There is hate and hostility. Because this abomination brings great guilt there follows extreme consequence. Now those sodomite sympathizers will try to cast the consequences onto those contending and committed to Scripture. “It is your fault, the churches fault, your Bible’s fault that I am this way.  I was born this way, you are hateful and intolerant of whom I am. I have a right to be who I am and to be happy. Why are you so hateful?”  On the list of attacks will go if the TRUTH is uncompromisingly, yet even compassionately stated.  This brings me to the third challenge.

3.  Crying out in Faith – That is a literal crying out – They that sow in tears. If you contend for the Faith and commit to the Faith there must be earnest prayer for perseverance, purity and power in this warfare of Faith. Those enslaved by the abomination of sodomy are plagued by:
Alcohol and drugs
Disease such as HIV and AIDS
Serious crime, even murder
Psychiatric problems
Child abuse and other perversions


This “abomination” plunges its victim into vile perversion, as well as, creates a predatory mentality. This hostile abomination is bent on child molestation, child indoctrination and ultimately turning others from TRUTH to “abomination.” May God help us in TRUTH and LOVE to:
1.  Contend for the Faith
2.  Commit to the Faith
3.  Cry out in the Faith
For those enslaved in this Satanic Abomination!

In an ever-widening circle across the United States, anyone holding to the Bible position that sodomy is a vile enslaving sin is accused of reversing civil rights to pre-emancipation days. Politicians on both sides of the aisle are labeled and attacked if they do not vote for so-called “same sex marriage.” Public school curriculum, the sports arena and corporate level officials are pressured and threatened to acquiesce.

Never forget, it is the miracle working power of the precious blood of Jesus Christ that cleanseth from all unrighteousness. Thank God that the sinner of whatever sort (1Corinthians 6:9-11) can be saved.  Did some in the church of Corinth profess Christianity but fail to believe Christ as authority and rule of all in their life? We are all sinners in need of the Saviour’s redemption and regeneration. Indeed such were some of us. Let it be said as a warning:  America, or any nation for that matter, --the abomination spoken of here will doom and damn a people. So why is this hostility and hatred toward those that stand on God’s pronouncement of judgment upon sodomy? It is because this abomination brings to the sinner’s heart a fear of impending doom. That hostility and hatred is only to the hurt of that lost soul without Christ. This is proof of the consequence brought on by this abomination.

My wife and I discussed the difficult decisions Christian brothers and sisters were having to make due to family members choosing sinful lifestyles. It often is not a matter of knowing what the scriptures say about sin but the courage and how to of applying God’s Word to everyday life and circumstances. Come Thanksgiving Day or some other family get together, what is the Biblical approach to the family member addressed in 1Corinthians 6:9-11.
 

The Bottomline:


Dear Heavenly Father:
Give us compassion for those enslaved by sin, self and Satan. May we speak the truth in love and have the boldness and power to stand for righteousness. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and wisdom to say and do that which will bring honour and glory to you our loving Lord.
